Power amplifier classes are, in electronics, letter symbols applied to different power amplifier types.

The classes are related to the time period that the active amplifier device is passing current, expressed as a fraction of the period of a signal waveform applied to the input. Different type of power amplifiers gives different responses when passing current through them. Out of those classes most commonly used audio amplifiers classes are A, B, AB, C. Hence the complete signal present at the input is amplified at the output. The most commonly constructed amplifier classes are those that are used as audio amplifiers , mainly class A, B , AB and C and to keep things simple, it is these types of amplifier classes we will look at here in more detail.
